Weddings, Hand Fasting, Renewal of Vows: When bringing two together in matrimony, I believe in taking the personal approach, I like to work closely with the couple several months prior to their ceremony. I feel that it is the ministers responsibility to not only officiate but to be there for the couple as not only a counselor and a minister but as a friend.
If you think about it, especially those of you that were ever married by a hired minister who you barley knew; Wouldn't you have rather been married by someone you know, someone that you can talk to, both before you got married and someone that you can go to even after your married if you have a problem?
I officiate both traditional services and themed ceremonies, when it comes to vows I feel that the words should be written and spoken by the married individuals from the heart, and not recited by the minister.
